Casa de Jovim is a 1958 modernist villa designed by architect Manuel Passos Júnior, author of the Capitólio building on Avenida dos Aliados and the Cristo Rei Church in Foz. It is one of the rare residential works of Porto modernism to have reached our time with the architect’s original signature intact.
In 2021 it was restored in full respect of the original architectural and landscape plans. It was not modernised — it was honoured. The interior keeps its period furniture and design: the original bar with its neon sign, the spiral staircase, the tile panel, the light fixtures and the details that make this house a true time capsule, now with every modern comfort.
