Immerse yourself in the timeless tranquility of this historic Carmelite convent, built in 1568, which stands in the green heart of Lunigiana, a land that preserves millennia of history, culture and traditions. Surrounded by majestic cypresses, olive trees and chestnut trees, this Italian Renaissance jewel is much more than just a dwelling – it is a journey into the past, a spiritual retreat that conveys a deep sense of peace and serenity.

The property, included in the national register of Italian Historic Houses, is spread over an area of 1578 square meters cadastral as well as a house of 213 m2 and a shed of 56 m2 and includes 17 hectares of land.

The convent, partly lovingly restored by a local family who have owned it for generations, preserves its monastic soul intact. The rooms and cells, the cloister with the ancient stone well and the splendid original frescoes are silent witnesses of a retired and contemplative life, far from the noise of the world.

The location offers a perfect combination of privacy and accessibility. Despite the quiet that reigns supreme, shops and services are only 3 minutes away by car, while the proximity to the coast of Cinque Terre and Versilia makes this property ideal for sea lovers as well. The convent was also chosen as a meeting place between the Italian and German presidents, a recognition of the uniqueness of this property.

In addition to its fascinating history, the convent boasts excellent natural acoustics, making it a perfect location for events and ceremonies of all kinds. Currently, the property includes two habitable apartments, rented thanks to the extraordinary location of Lunigiana, with its spas, parks, ancient castles and paths immersed in breathtaking landscapes.

This historic residence, a true jewel of the past, offers a unique opportunity to live immersed in Italian history. Every corner of this ancient Tuscan convent tells stories, inviting you to travel through time. It is the ideal place for those who want an exclusive retreat, where serenity is intertwined with authenticity.

The property lends itself to different destinations, from a prestigious private residence to the headquarters of a foundation or a holistic wellness center, which can enhance the tradition of the place and promote the territory.

The history of the convent:

The history of the convent begins in June 1568, when the first stone was laid on the bequest of Elisabetta di Cerignano. His son Raffaele, who had embraced religious life by entering the Carmelite Order in Pisa, was the founder and first prior of the convent. Next to the convent there was also a church, once equipped with six altars, of which today only the suggestive pillars remain.

Over the centuries, the convent has hosted not only Carmelite friars, but also families and prominent figures such as the famous doctor Ennio Adreani, a luminary of the 60s in the field of homeopathy and acupuncture. Here Dr. Adreani carried out his important work of care, bequeathing all his study books, which testify to a fascinating history and a deep bond with natural medicine.
