Estepona occupies a stretch of the western Costa del Sol between Marbella and Gibraltar, and has built a reputation as one of the coast’s most liveable towns. The old town centres on Plaza de las Flores and Calle Real, with restaurants including El Gaviero and La Escollera covering traditional Andalusian and seafood menus. The weekly market runs on Saturdays. Puerto Deportivo de Estepona provides marina dining and leisure. Marbella is approximately 30 kilometres east by road.

Estepona sits on the A-7 coastal road and the AP-7 toll motorway, placing Marbella around 25 minutes by car and Malaga city centre roughly one hour away. Malaga Airport, the main international hub for the Costa del Sol, is approximately 80 kilometres east and handles direct routes to most major European cities, with journey times from the airport to Estepona typically under one hour by car.
