Villa à Estepona

Estepona occupies a distinct position on the Costa del Sol, sitting between Marbella to the east and Gibraltar to the southwest, with the Sierra Bermeja mountains rising sharply behind it. Unlike much of the coast, Estepona has preserved a functioning old town, with whitewashed streets, flower-lined plazas, and a working fishing port that give it a character grounded in Andalusian tradition rather than resort development. It is increasingly the preferred address for buyers who want the infrastructure of the Costa del Sol without the density of Marbella.

The old town centres on Plaza de las Flores and Calle Real, with restaurants including La Escollera at the port and El Gaviero for fresh seafood. The weekly market runs on Saturdays. The Selwo Aventura wildlife park and the Orchidarium botanical garden are both within the municipality. Puerto Banús and central Marbella are approximately 20 minutes east by car.

Málaga Airport is the primary international gateway, approximately 75 kilometres from Estepona, with a drive of around 55 to 65 minutes depending on traffic on the AP-7 toll road. The airport serves over 100 destinations including direct routes to London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam. Gibraltar Airport, roughly 45 kilometres to the southwest, offers an alternative for UK connections. High-speed rail from Málaga connects to Madrid in under three hours.
