Haute Saône : Chambre D'hôtes « Vélo »

This ”cycling” bed and breakfast with several detached houses is located on a col in the Vosges mountains and is well known for the pasture around. The old converted barracks sits on 2 acres of land. The main building; the barracks, has room for up to 40 people with bedrooms, bathrooms and private quarters. The building has a wonderful large hall through which you can also access the general area (for breakfast, for example) and the large bicycle shed. There are also barns and a horse stable. The independent gites are detached houses with kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathroom. The whole is beautifully situated at the top of the mountain with very nice views. Who dares to take over this thriving business?

On the grounds of La Haute Fourche there are 4 buildings: gîte Franche-Comté for up to 6 people, gîte Lorraine for up to 10 people, gîte Col du Mont de Fourche for up to 12 people (sold separately) and La Caserne for up to 40 people.

La Caserne / The Inn
La Caserne is the largest building on the grounds of La Haute Fourche. As its name suggests, it was built as a barracks for soldiers who had to guard the Col du Mont de Fourche, and as support for the nearby Fort de Rupt.
From the 1930s it was used as a children’s colony, to offer children from big cities a vacation in nature. There are 12 bedrooms for up to 40 guests, a beautiful bar/dining room, games room, bicycle storage, a covered terrace and beautiful surroundings.

2 triple rooms, (k6 and k12, both with bathroom in the room)
2 four-bed rooms (k10 and k11, both with bathroom in the room)
2 five-bed rooms (k7 and k8, both with bathroom facilities in the room)
2 five-person rooms with sanitary facilities in the corridor (k4 and k9)
1 small apartment with 2 double rooms and 1 single room, WC and shower shared)

The Gites / Holiday Homes
There are 2 gites, Franche-Comté and Lorraine.

FRANCHE-COMTÉ
Gîte Franche-Comté is a spacious house with a large garden surrounding it. It has three bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room with wood stove and can accommodate 6 people. When it was built around 1900 it was intended for the caretaker of the complex. The layout has hardly changed since then, so it still breathes the atmosphere of yesteryear. Of course, adjustments have been made; unlike in the past, there is now hot water, a shower, central heating and appliances such as a microwave and dishwasher.
The garden has a lot of privacy. There is garden furniture, a clothesline, fire pit and barbecue. The car can be parked next to the house.

VACATION HOME LORRAINE
The cottage Lorraine is a large house which can accommodate up to 10 people. There are 4 bedrooms; two on the first floor with in each a double bed, two upstairs with in one 2 single beds and in the other 4. There is also the living room with open kitchen and wood stove, two toilets (one downstairs and one upstairs) and 12 spacious showers.
This house was built around 1900 as an officer’s house. Later, from the 1930s, it was used by the leadership of the children’s colony.
Around the house is a spacious garden with a fire pit, garden furniture and barbecue. The car can be parked next to the house.
