A former 1850s manor house with gardens, in the Île-de-France region, 18 kilometres south of Paris. Behind an elegant entrance, made up of a wrought-iron entrance gate and pedestrian gate, a small, paved path leads to the residence and the first walled garden dotted with many types of trees, notably an American black walnut tree. With its large expanses of pink cladding and green wooden shutters, the “Villa Rose” is emblematic of classical Parisian architecture. As for the symmetrical, two-storey façade with three vertical rows of windows and, in the centre, the moulded splay of the entrance door topped by an oculus, it owes much to the gentleness of Italian architecture. On each level and in each vertical row, there are large-paned windows with period or restored frames The other façade overlooks the second garden and possesses an entrance below a small awning. Lastly, next to the house, enclosed by adjacent fencing, there is a lean-to that has been converted into a small outbuilding.
