Island amenities include public-access clay tennis courts and the one hundred-year-old Great Chebeague Golf Club, recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places—one of four in Maine. Beside the golf course is the Chebeague Island Inn, also over one hundred years old, recently declared eligible for the National Register. Two ferries serve the island daily: the nonprofit Chebeague Transportation Co., with its frequent fifteen-minute trips from Cousins Island; and infrequent ferries from Portland waterfront by Casco Bay Line. The fastest boat service is with Chebeague or Portland water taxis.
