A lot of important things happened in 1974, the year this hip split level was built on an inviting wooded lot in burgeoning Booker Creek. Nixon resigned. And the present owner has preserved so many of those great details while updating the details that make modern living easy. The ’70s were an interesting design era, in that carpet was kind of a big deal. But hardwoods really suit this home better, and those were installed in 2016, when she purchased the home. Masonite was someone’s bright idea that soon dimmed, so the siding is now HardiePlank while the brick veneer was preserved. The electrical panel is updated, the plumbing, too. Trader Joes, Whole Foods, loads of restaurants and coffee shops (Driade anyone?) just a quick neighborhood hack away via Booker Creek Trail. Public transit friendly to campus. Ideal location means 15-501, the airport, Durham, and Carrboro and every place in between quick and easy to get to.
