La prestigieuse villa a été construite en 1780 par la famille Beretta, qui l’a ensuite vendue à Domenico Pino, un général italien sous les ordres de Napoléon Bonaparte. Il y a eu plusieurs passages, d’abord aux comtes Fontana de Milan, puis aux Biscaretti de Ruffia, et enfin à Emilio Treves, éditeur de Milan, dont il porte encore le nom aujourd’hui.
Grâce à son intérêt pour la culture, la villa est devenue un lieu de rencontre pour les intellectuels de l’époque. En fait, il était fréquenté par Gabriele D’Annunzio, Edmondo De Amicis, Giovanni Verga et bien d’autres.
LE REZ-DE-CHAUSSÉE
Le rez-de-chaussée de la villa d’époque est divisé en deux zones principales : la zone de représentation et la zone informelle. La zone représentative comprend un grand hall donnant sur le lac, un salon et une grande salle à manger. L’espace informel comprend le salon, la salle à manger, la cuisine, une salle de bain pour personnes handicapées et une autre salle de bain. Cet espace s’ouvre sur le jardin avec la piscine. L’ascenseur dessert les trois premiers étages.
