Beaulieu-sur-Mer occupies a sheltered bay between Monaco and Nice, protected on three sides by the Alpes-Maritimes and consistently recording some of the warmest winter temperatures on the French Riviera. The town has maintained a distinctly refined character since the Belle Époque, when European aristocracy and Russian nobility built their winter residences here. The Villa Kérylos, a faithful reconstruction of an ancient Greek house completed in 1908, remains the town’s most celebrated landmark and reflects the serious cultural ambitions of its early patrons.

Daily life in Beaulieu-sur-Mer centres on the covered market on Place du Général de Gaulle, the waterfront promenade Maurice Rouvier connecting to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, and the port with its restaurants including La Réserve de Beaulieu. The Petite Afrique beach is a short walk from the town centre. Monaco is 10 kilometres east.

Beaulieu-sur-Mer has its own SNCF station on the Marseille to Ventimiglia coastal line, with direct trains reaching Nice in approximately 15 minutes and Monaco in around 8 minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is 12 kilometres west, accessible in roughly 25 minutes by car or taxi, with direct flights to most major European cities and intercontinental connections.
