Bandol — Maison Familiale Près De La Plage

Bandol occupies a privileged position on the Var coast, roughly midway between Marseille and Toulon, and carries a reputation that extends well beyond its modest size. The town is best known internationally for its appellation, one of the most respected in Provence, producing structured reds from Mourvèdre that age for decades. The harbour front, lined with plane trees and café terraces, gives the town a composed, unhurried character that distinguishes it from the more crowded resorts further east along the Côte d’Azur.

Daily life centres on the covered market on Place de la Liberté, open every morning. The harbour promenade connects directly to the main commercial streets, where you will find independent food shops, bakeries, and restaurants including L’Espérance and La Grotte. Renecros beach is within a short walk of the town centre, and the île de Bendor, reached by a five-minute ferry from the port, offers additional dining and leisure.

Bandol train station sits on the Marseille to Toulon TER line, placing Toulon approximately 20 minutes away and Marseille Saint-Charles around 50 minutes by rail. By road, the A50 motorway connects to Marseille in roughly 45 minutes and to Toulon in under 30 minutes. Marseille Provence Airport at Marignane is the primary international gateway, approximately 60 kilometres from Bandol, or around 50 minutes by car under normal conditions.
