L’un des habitants de la maison n’était autre que le célèbre peintre Baldassarre Longoni (1876-1956), maître du divisionnisme et brillant artiste actif entre le XIXe et le XXe siècle ; oscillant entre divisionnisme, réalisme et naturalisme, Longoni, originaire de Valle Intelvi, était l’un des peintres les plus intéressants du paysage lombard de son époque.
Depuis 2011, la villa a été entièrement et finement restaurée.
La richesse des détails et des choix décoratifs, qui révèlent la passion pour l’art et les différentes cultures du monde, est surprenante : tapisseries en soie, revêtements de très haut niveau et détails d’époque d’origine parfaitement conservés (sols, fresques, luminaires) que l’on peut admirer dans toute la villa.
Chaque chambre dégage une ambiance culturelle différente : du Japon à la Chine, en passant par la Russie et l’Italie. En ce sens, la villa est en quelque sorte une expérience multiculturelle unique.
