Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice on a peninsula that has drawn residents of consequence for centuries. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts, gives the city a density of history and architectural character that newer resort towns along the coast cannot replicate. Cap d’Antibes, the wooded headland to the south, remains one of the most prestigious residential addresses in France, defined by large private estates and direct access to the sea.

Daily life in Antibes centres on the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, open every morning except Monday. The old port offers restaurants including Le Vauban and numerous waterfront terraces. Antibes has its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct services to Nice in around 25 minutes and to Cannes in under 15 minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 20 kilometres away, reachable in 20 to 30 minutes by car or via a direct train connection, with flights to most major European cities and intercontinental routes.
