A CASTLE. A FAMILY. A LEGEND. Laval Castle is unlike any other property on the French Riviera. And it will never resemble anything else.
Built in 1865, it was inhabited by a prince from the Colonna family — one of the most illustrious dynasties of Rome, which has given an pope to the Church and an admiral to the Battle of Lepanto. It was he who transformed this bastide into an Italian rococo-inspired castle, surrounded by a 3.5-hectare park planted with nine species of rare palms and a giant cypress.
In 1946, an Orientalist painter, appointed official painter of the Ministry of Colonies, purchased it with a dream: to hand over the keys to the city of Antibes to turn it into its future Fine Arts Museum. This dream was never realized.
Today, it is up to you to decide what this castle will become.
14 ROOMS. ABOUT 400 SQM. A 160-YEAR-OLD SOUL. It is not a castle. It is a living story you can touch with your fingertips.
The walls have seen Roman princes, visionary artists, museum dreams, entire lives dedicated to beauty. And now? Now, these walls await your own chapter.
THE INTERIOR: WHERE THE PAST MEETS LUXURY Imagine entering this castle: the turrets greet you, the historic facade welcomes you as a rightful heir. And inside?
A luxuriously furnished double living room with a majestic decorative fireplace. An intimate lounge, perfect for reading by the fire. A spacious office, ideal if you work from home — or if you write the next chapter of the castle’s story.
The kitchen? Fully equipped, spacious, designed for meals that create memories. The medieval-style dining room seats a dozen guests — and the never-ending evenings.
ROYAL SUITES Upstairs, four bedrooms decorated with the refinement of a castle that assumes its rank. And the master suite? It has its own dressing room and a private bathroom with a bathtub... in the keep. Yes, the keep. You will literally sleep in the castle tower.
On the second floor, a large bedroom with a private shower room — perfect for guests or additional leisure space.
THE WORLD BELOW The basement is a sanctuary of entertainment: a wine cellar for special years, a well-stocked bar, a cinema room with comfortable seats and a large screen, and a spa area with a hammam and sauna. After a long day, you don’t go home. You escape to your own private resort.
BEYOND THE CASTLE Because this property doesn’t stop at the castle walls: a guest house of 220 m² with three additional bedrooms. Three 179 m² apartments for staff. Total autonomy. Absolute discretion.
THE PARK: 3,270 SQM OF PARADISE 3,270 sqm of beautifully wooded park. A large pool with a spacious terrace. A view stretching from the sea to the sky — open, breathtaking, unforgettable. Nine species of rare palms. A giant cypress. A beautifully landscaped garden with flower beds and an elegant fountain.
This is where you will wake up every morning.
LOCATION DOES EVERYTHING Located on the heights of Antibes, you are 5 minutes from downtown, 5 minutes from the sea and beaches, 3 minutes from the port and TGV station, 1 minute from shops. 10 meters from the highway. 20 minutes from the airport. You are at the heart of the French Riviera, connected to everything, isolated from nothing. Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice on a peninsula that has drawn successive waves of artists, aristocrats, and international residents since the nineteenth century. The old town, enclosed within Vauban-designed ramparts, retains a density of history and architectural character that newer Riviera resorts cannot replicate. The Cap d’Antibes headland to the south remains one of the most coveted addresses in France, defined by grand villas set within mature private gardens.
Daily life in Antibes centres on the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, open every morning except Monday. The old port area offers restaurants including Le Vauban and numerous seafood addresses along the quays. Juan-les-Pins, immediately adjacent, provides beach clubs and a summer jazz festival with an international programme. The Picasso Museum, housed in the Château Grimaldi, is a ten-minute walk from the market.
Antibes-Juan-les-Pins station sits on the main coastal rail line, with direct TGV services to Paris in approximately five and a half hours and frequent regional trains reaching Nice in around twenty minutes and Cannes in under ten. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately twenty-five kilometres to the east, accessible in roughly thirty minutes by car or via a connecting train to Nice and airport shuttle. The A8 motorway provides direct access toward Monaco and the Italian border.

The agency was created in 1925, and specializes primarily in the Cap d’Antibes real estate market for luxury villa sales and rentals. The agency will propose the highest number of properties for sale on the Cap d’Antibes, French Riviera. Most of these houses have a sea view, some with a swimming pool and a large land, and others with seafront houses. The agency is specialized for those who have decided to buy a property in this area, consequently each villa for sale on the Cap d’Antibes has a good chance to be promoted by our company.
Located between Juan-les-Pins and Antibes, Cap d’Antibes is the area with many luxurious properties, protected from view by a lush green setting. If this reduces the space accessible to the public on this special course, it also helped to preserve this place of urbanization, retaining all the charm of the pine forest. Many properties and luxury hotels occupy the space of this peninsula, making it somewhat inaccessible. At the southern end of the Cap, the Eden Roc Hotel, built in 1870 on a plot of 8 hectares, is one of the most luxurious in the world and was the first hotel on the French Riviera to open in summer.
