iad France - Armand Espeilhac presents: Overlooking the Lot valley for nearly eight centuries, this 13th-century medieval castle offers an exceptional panorama and rare architectural heritage. Carefully restored, it now combines the charm of history with modern comfort.
This splendid 13th-century castle, listed as a Historic Monument since 1995, is located in the commune of Ambeyrac, on the Aveyron side, just 15 minutes from Cajarc and Figeac.
This exceptional place captivates with its authenticity, the quality of its restoration, and the nobility of its architecture.
Partially destroyed during the French Revolution, its tower, now beautifully rebuilt, houses a remarkable stone spiral staircase serving the three habitable levels of the castle and providing access to the former machicolations (about 120 m² usable).
Most of the castle has been designed for tourist accommodation with five large suites, each with its own shower room and private toilets, as well as an elegant lounge adorned with Versailles-style parquet flooring. An ideal opportunity to continue a guesthouse business or to welcome family and friends in privileged conditions.
On the garden level, there is a spacious 57 m² living room with natural stone, a bright kitchen with its original cantou opening onto the gardens, a boiler room, a WC, and a vestibule. Additionally, a 31 m² living area, an office, and a mezzanine complete this harmonious ensemble.
Fully restored in 1995 respecting the original materials and architecture (framework, roof, joinery, floors, heating, electricity), the castle now offers 370 m² of living space and retains strong development potential thanks to its outbuildings: a former stable of 110 m² over two levels with chestnut parquet flooring, and an adjoining barn of about 90 m², both in excellent structural condition.
On a landscaped plot of 2,870 m², there is also a 9 × 5 m swimming pool and a shed of about 60 m² allowing parking for three vehicles.
Rare on the market, this property will appeal both to heritage enthusiasts and to those with tourism or event projects seeking a place rich in history in an exceptional natural environment.
