Sant Joan de Labritja is the northernmost municipality of Ibiza and the one most removed from the island’s commercial tourism circuit. The area is defined by pine-covered hills, dry-stone walls, and whitewashed farmhouses that have shaped this landscape for centuries. The village itself retains a genuinely rural character, with a small church at its centre and a pace of life that reflects the agricultural traditions of the Pityusic Islands rather than the resort economy of the south.

The municipality encompasses beaches including Cala de Sant Vicent and Cala Xarraca, both within a short drive. The village of Sant Joan has a weekly farmers market on Sundays. Portinatx, the nearest coastal resort, offers restaurants and services. Sant Carles de Peralta, known for the Las Dalias hippie market, is approximately ten minutes by car.

Ibiza Airport is located in the south of the island, approximately 40 kilometres from Sant Joan de Labritja, a drive of around 45 minutes via the main island road. The airport operates year-round international connections, with significantly expanded routes during the summer season. Ferry services from Ibiza Town connect to Barcelona, Valencia, and Palma de Mallorca, with Ibiza Town reachable from Sant Joan in roughly 30 minutes by car.
