Saint-Tropez occupies a singular position in the French Riviera, a former fishing village on the southern tip of the Var coastline that has evolved into one of the most recognised addresses in the world. The old port, the Place des Lices with its twice-weekly market, and the narrow lanes of the historic centre retain a genuine Provençal character that coexists with the town’s international reputation. The surrounding peninsula offers some of the most sought-after residential land on the Mediterranean.

Daily life centres on the Marché de la Place des Lices on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, the restaurants along the Quai Jean Jaurès, and beaches including Pampelonne, Salins, and Les Graniers. Saint-Tropez is not served by a train station. The nearest rail connection is at Saint-Raphaël, approximately 35 kilometres away, with TGV services to Paris in around four hours. By road, Nice is roughly 100 kilometres east, typically 90 minutes to two hours depending on traffic. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is the primary gateway, with a transfer time of approximately 90 minutes by car, or faster by private helicopter, a common option for residents.
