The Dreamer Estate: Robert Stone, Aia Top 25 Homes Globally (Wallpaper*)

Featured in Wallpaper’s Top 25 Houses of 2025 and on the March 2026 cover of Palm Springs Life, The Dreamer Estate is a singular desert compound by acclaimed architect Robert Stone. Set on 3.83 acres in Rancho Mirage, it is an architectural work with the scale, privacy, and visual authority to stand apart in the Coachella Valley.

Stone’s work has spent three decades expanding the language of desert shelter. His earlier projects, including Acido Dorado and Rosa Muerta, received the 2013 AIA Top Honor Award, have been exhibited by the Smithsonian, and have drawn the attention of Vogue Italia, Saint Laurent, and Beyoncé. At Kelley Lane, that sensibility becomes a complete and deeply inhabitable residential statement: California Chicano Futurism, rendered at an exceptional scale.

• Main Residence: A grounded sculptural form beneath a roof of traditional pottery tile finished in four metallic glazes, creating a shifting, luminous surface across the desert floor.
