Port-Grimaud is a privately developed lakeside village built in the 1960s by architect François Spoerry on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Modelled on the Provençal fishing villages of the Var coast, it is laid out across a network of canals, with coloured facades, arched bridges, and direct water access from most properties. The village is pedestrianised, giving it a quietness that is rare on this stretch of coastline, and its position on the lagoon provides shelter while keeping Saint-Tropez Bay within easy reach by boat.

The village centre has restaurants, cafés, and boutiques along the main square and waterfront. The market town of Grimaud is a ten-minute drive inland. Sainte-Maxime, with its larger supermarkets, pharmacies, and weekly market, is approximately fifteen minutes by car. Saint-Tropez is reachable in under thirty minutes by road or by water taxi across the bay.

The nearest train station is at Les Arcs-Draguignan, roughly forty-five minutes by car, with TGV connections to Paris in approximately four hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is around ninety minutes by road and serves a wide range of European and international routes. Toulon-Hyères Airport, smaller but closer at around sixty minutes, handles seasonal and domestic traffic. The A8 motorway is accessible via Le Muy, approximately thirty minutes away.
