Provençal Bastide Near Grimaud And The Beaches

Grimaud is a medieval hilltop village in the Var department, positioned between the Massif des Maures and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The upper village, dominated by the ruins of an 11th-century castle, retains its Provençal character with narrow stone lanes, Romanesque church, and shaded squares. The lower area, Plan de la Tour road and the coastal fringe, gives residents access to the Gulf without the congestion and premium pricing of Saint-Tropez itself.

The weekly market in Grimaud village covers local produce, cheese, and charcuterie. Port Grimaud, the car-free waterfront development a few minutes by car, offers waterside restaurants and direct boat access to Saint-Tropez. The beaches of Cogolin and Sainte-Maxime are within a 15-minute drive, as are the golf courses at Beauvallon and Sainte-Maxime.

Saint-Tropez is approximately 15 kilometres by road, around 20 minutes outside peak season. Sainte-Maxime, with a ferry service across the Gulf to Saint-Tropez, is roughly 10 kilometres away. The nearest train station is at Les Arcs-Draguignan, around 35 kilometres north, with TGV connections to Paris in approximately four hours. Toulon-Hyères Airport is 70 kilometres west, and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is approximately 100 kilometres east, around 90 minutes by car.
