Eygalières is one of the most quietly coveted villages in the Alpilles, a small limestone range that defines the landscape of the Bouches-du-Rhône. The village sits at the foot of a rocky spur crowned by the ruins of a medieval château, with views across olive groves and garrigue that have changed little over centuries. It draws a discreet international clientele precisely because it has resisted the commercialisation that has overtaken Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, its better-known neighbour to the north.
The village centre is compact and walkable. The Bistrot de la Place and Le Bistrot d’Eygalières Chez Bru are the two anchor restaurants. A weekly market runs on Thursdays. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with its broader range of shops, galleries, and the Saturday market on Place de la République, is approximately eight kilometres away by car.

Avignon, with its TGV station connecting to Paris Gare de Lyon in approximately two hours and forty minutes, is roughly thirty kilometres north.
