Estepona occupies a stretch of the western Costa del Sol between Marbella and Gibraltar, and has built a reputation as one of the coast’s most liveable towns. Unlike its neighbours, it has retained a functioning historic centre, with whitewashed streets, flower-lined alleys, and a working fishing port that gives the town a character grounded in Andalusian daily life rather than pure resort tourism. The seafront promenade runs for several kilometres along a series of well-maintained sandy beaches.

The weekly market on Avenida Juan Carlos I covers produce and local goods. Puerto Deportivo de Estepona offers sailing and waterfront dining. Marbella is 30 minutes east by car.

Estepona sits on the A-7 coastal road and the AP-7 toll motorway, placing Marbella 30 minutes away and Málaga city approximately one hour by car. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, the main international hub for the region, is roughly 85 kilometres east and handles direct routes to most major European cities. Gibraltar Airport is approximately 45 kilometres west, offering an additional connection point for UK-bound travellers.
