Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, combining international cultural prestige with the physical setting of the Mediterranean coast. The city is defined by the Boulevard de la Croisette, a two-kilometre seafront promenade lined with palace hotels, private beaches, and the Palais des Festivals, home to the world-famous film festival. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 25 kilometres east, reachable in around 30 minutes by car or via the direct Lignes d’Azur bus service. Monaco is approximately 45 minutes by train, and Marseille is under two hours.
