Deià is a small mountain village on the northwest coast of Mallorca, set against the Serra de Tramuntana range, which holds UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape. Long associated with artists, writers, and intellectuals, the village has maintained a distinct identity that sets it apart from the broader Mallorcan property market. Its stone architecture, terraced olive groves, and position above a rocky coastline give it a character that has attracted serious buyers for decades.

Daily life centres on the village square, the church of Sant Joan Baptista, and a handful of well-regarded restaurants including Es Racó d’es Teix and Ca n’Alluny. The cove of Cala Deià is a short walk down from the village. Sóller, the nearest town with a full range of services and a weekly market, is approximately 10 kilometres away.

Sóller is reachable in around 15 minutes by car, and from there the historic tram connects to Port de Sóller. Palma, the island capital, is approximately 30 kilometres from Deià and takes around 40 minutes to drive. Palma de Mallorca Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities, with journey times from the airport to Deià typically under one hour.
