Benahavis is one of the most sought-after addresses on the Costa del Sol, a small mountain municipality set in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves that has built a reputation for exclusivity, privacy, and some of the highest-value real estate in Andalusia. The municipality borders Marbella and Estepona and contains a disproportionate share of the region’s gated residential estates, including La Zagaleta, one of Europe’s most exclusive private residential clubs. The landscape is defined by dramatic gorges, pine forests, and the Guadalmina and Guadalmansa river valleys.

The village of Benahavis itself is known for its concentration of restaurants along a single main street, drawing residents from across the coast for lunch. Puerto Banus is approximately 15 minutes by car, Marbella’s Golden Mile around 20 minutes, and Estepona around 25 minutes, covering the full range of daily shopping, dining, and marina access.

Malaga Airport is the primary international gateway, located approximately 60 kilometres east and reachable in around 45 to 55 minutes by car depending on traffic. The airport operates direct routes to most major European cities and several long-haul destinations. Gibraltar Airport, roughly 65 kilometres to the southwest, provides an additional option for UK connections. There is no direct rail access to Benahavis; private car or taxi remains the standard mode of transport throughout the municipality.
