1978 Toyota FJ 40 Landcruiser

Toyota FJ40 production began in 1960 and continued through 1984. Over those 24 years, the FJ 40 remained largely unchanged as the formula remained successful: Small, maneuverable, reliable and rugged. As such, the FJ40 was quickly embraced byt the 4X4 community. These trucks continue to live on, and 4 wheel drive enthusiasts go to great lengths to keep them on the road. Some purists restore them to bone stock while others implement all sorts of available modifications.

The truck offered here is powered by the legendary 4.2 liter 2F inline 6 cylinder engine, 4 speed manual transmission and Toyota’s go anywhere 4 wheel drive system. This FJ has been completely restored and has been sorted for approximately 500 miles. It features excellent paint, new soft top, new upholstery all around, powder coated wheels, new interior, desirable ambulance style rear doors, front split bench seat, full size rear jump seats, roll bar, front tow hooks, new tires etc.

Mechanically, this FJ is excellent all around and ready to take anyone anywhere.

The vintage 4X4 market remains very strong and the FJ40 continues to pave the way. There have been documented sales of fully restored examples in excess of 75000.00 dollars.
