One of only 559 examples produced worldwide, this Ferrari represents an exceptionally limited interpretation of the front-engine V12 grand tourer, combining the performance of the 575M Maranello with an innovative retractable glass roof. Equipped with Ferrari’s six-speed F1 automated manual transmission, this example has remained under the care of its current owner since 2014, reflecting an extended period of ownership spanning more than a decade. The Superamerica name traces its origins to some of Ferrari’s most exclusive grand touring automobiles of the 1950s and 1960s, when the designation was reserved for a select series of luxurious, high-performance twelve-cylinder models. Revived in 2005, the name was applied to a limited-production open-top version of the 575M Maranello, continuing Ferrari’s tradition of combining powerful front-mounted V12 engines with sophisticated Pininfarina styling and long-distance touring capability. The defining feature of the 575 Superamerica is its patented Revocromico rotating glass roof, developed using a design by Fioravanti. Constructed with a carbon-fiber frame and electrochromic glass, the roof rotates rearward approximately 180 degrees, transforming the car from an enclosed grand tourer into an open-top automobile in approximately ten seconds. Unlike conventional retractable roof systems, the panel rests above the rear deck without compromising luggage capacity, while the fixed rear window serves as a wind deflector when the roof is open. The Revocromico roof also incorporates five selectable levels of glass tint, allowing occupants to control the amount of sunlight entering the cabin.
