Featured here is a fantastic vintage car. This 1924 Dodge Brothers Touring car is an older restoration that has aged well. The black finish has been well-maintained and shines with a deep luster. The nickel-plated radiator and bumpers likewise have been kept polished and sustained to a deep brilliance. The top is in very good condition and included in the sale are all the side curtains and a rear passenger area tonneau cover. The car rides on traditional tubed tires mounted on Budd-Michelin steel disc wheels painted body color. The rear brake light and motometer radiator cap were standard equipment on the Dodges of that era.

The black interior was completely restored some time ago and shows only some light wear on the touch points of the upholstery and light color fade in the carpet. The dash features a simple gauge cluster with oil pressure and amperes meters. The large wood-rimmed steering wheel houses the throttle and timing control levers mounted on the steering column, and you thought steering wheel finger controls were a modern feature!

Under the hood sits an L-head 212.3 cid for cylinder motor that was factory rated at 35 horsepower. The engine runs well and starts up with ease. The engine is mated to a three-speed selective sliding manual transmission. The power is routed to the rear differential that houses the two-wheel mechanical brakes. The frame is clean and free of rust and overall, the simple mechanics have been kept up on the suspension and brakes, with the only concern being that the muffler shows some tiny holes and will need to be eventually replaced. Otherwise, this vintage Dodge is turnkey and ready to cruise.

This would be a great car for driving in local heritage parades, participating in vintage car club tours or car shows such as the Old Car Festival held at Greenfield Village were you can cruise the streets with other era-correct cars. There really is nothing like driving a 100-year-old car, and you will enjoy taking rides on the two lanes in your community as passersby smile and marvel at this piece of history that is in its natural habitat, out on the road touring!
