This classic Chevrolet offers an appealing combination of 1980s styling, documented ownership history, and tasteful mechanical upgrades. A History Worth SharingIn August 2003, Mr. and Mrs. Elmore of St. Albans, West Virginia, purchased this Monte Carlo with approximately 53,000 miles. They enjoyed the vehicle until 2008, when it was sold through the Cruise Auction in Auburn, Indiana, to Mr. Doden, who purchased it with approximately 56,000 miles. Mr. Doden would go on to own the Monte Carlo for approximately 18 years, driving it sparingly while continuing to maintain and care for it. Accompanying the vehicle is an extensive collection of service and maintenance records dating back to 2001, providing a wonderful glimpse into the care this Chevrolet has received over the years. Mechanical Care and UpgradesUnder the hood is a 305 cubic-inch V8 featuring several documented performance-oriented upgrades, including an Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, aftermarket headers and exhaust, and camshaft and valvetrain improvements utilizing Lunati and Crane components. The engine has a pleasant, distinctive rumble that gives this classic Monte Carlo a little extra personality while retaining its comfortable cruising character. Additional service records document attention to the fuel system, ignition components, routine maintenance, and other mechanical items. Thousands of dollars in receipts accompany the vehicle. Exterior and Interior ConditionThe body presents exceptionally well, with no visible body rust reported, attractive chrome trim, and classic Chevrolet Rally-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Inside, the cloth upholstery, split-bench seating with fold-down armrest, carpeting, dashboard, and headliner all reflect the care this vehicle has received. The cabin is clean, well-preserved, and free of objectionable odors. Factory equipment includes power windows, power door locks, and air conditioning. An aftermarket stereo has also been installed. The original GM Service Parts Identification sticker remains intact beneath the trunk lid, documenting the vehicle’s original factory options, paint codes, and interior trim information. A Classic Chevrolet with a StoryWhat makes this Monte Carlo special isn’t simply its appearance. It’s the history behind it: decades of documented care, long-term ownership, limited use in recent years, and the preservation of a car that represents a memorable era in American automotive history. The odometer displays 57,789 miles, which we believe to be representative of the vehicle’s actual mileage based on its condition and available documentation. The vehicle is titled mileage-exempt due to its age, and mileage cannot be independently verified from new. For someone who appreciates the distinctive styling, comfort, and character of Chevrolet’s 1980s personal luxury coupes, this Monte Carlo is certainly worth a closer look.
