1960 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Convertible

1960 Chevrolet Corvette - 283/230 HP V8, 4-Speed Manual, Red with White Coves Classic Cars of Sarasota is proud to present this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette, finished in a striking Red exterior with White coves and a Black interior. Powered by the desirable 283-cubic-inch V8 producing 230 horsepower and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission, this Corvette delivers the classic combination of performance, styling, and simplicity that defined the early C1 Corvette. The 1960 Corvette represents the final evolution of the first-generation C1 design before Chevrolet introduced the dramatically restyled 1961 model. While its styling remained closely related to the 1959 Corvette, Chevrolet made important chassis improvements for 1960, including a stronger front sway bar and the addition of a rear sway bar. These changes helped improve handling and overall road manners. This Corvette is equipped with the 283/230-horsepower V8, featuring a single four-barrel carburetor configuration. While Chevrolet offered higher-performance dual-quad and fuel-injected versions, the 230-horsepower engine provided an excellent balance of classic small-block performance and everyday drivability. An Edelbrock intake, aftermarket valve covers, chrome alternator, and upgraded cooling system add tasteful enhancements to the engine compartment. Previous owner had the vehicle for 35 years. It did receive a body on restoration in 1986-1987 The car features a Red removable hardtop, while no soft top is included, consistent with a base-model-style configuration. The chrome presents cleanly, and the Corvette rides on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The seats were recovered within the last four years, the tires are approximately two years old, and the gauges were restored within the last three years. The 1960 Chevrolet Corvette is an important chapter in Corvette history, representing the final refinement of the original C1 styling before the major design transformation that followed. With its 283/230-horsepower V8, 4-speed manual transmission, Red-and-White color combination, removable hardtop, and classic C1 character, this Corvette offers the opportunity to enjoy one of America’s most iconic sports cars in a configuration that balances performance with traditional Corvette simplicity.
