Very Cool this MONTE CARLO fancy dial Tudor Chronograph from 1972- the serial # denotes this year, the chronograph versions of the unique MONTE CARLO fancy dials were first made popular in the heady 1970s with many Tudor Chronograph releases. This is the II version in a long line of MONTE CARLO Chronographs, and it features a Stainless steel Daytona- Cosmograph bezel, the 500 KMPH version tachymeter is still fairly crisp and clean. The unique feature about this watch is that it is a semi-Flyback mechanism - the VALJOUX-234 date version is an extremely rare version Chronograph movement, and as these cases were designed by Rolex at the height of the ever so popular Daytona-Cosmograph watches series, their collectibility factor now is becoming legendary ! Please take note of this fact, the movement is 100% Authentic, and it is not a VALJOUX-7734 such is the case, that later MONTE CARLO's were albeit made with the latter calibre, it is this version, the VALJOUX 234 that holds precedence and higher esteem, not to mention value.
The case is a Daytona Cosmograph version, with the 500 KMPH showing on the tachymeter scale, it has an inverted Cyclops at 6 o'clock that is unique and distinctive.
There is no possibility of a stainless steel band with this offering, it has a NATO 22 mm fabric/ textile band with it. Super clean condition.
