The Richard Mille RM 27-02 is a luxury watch designed and produced by the Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille. It is a limited edition watch that was created in collaboration with the tennis player Rafael Nadal, who has been a brand ambassador for Richard Mille since 2010.

The tonneau shaped case measures 47.77 x 39.70 mm x 12.25 mm in thickness with the bezel and solid case back crafted in Carbon and Quartz TPT with its unique black and white appearance achieved by alternating layers of quartz and carbon fibres with silica layers inserted in-between. These are attached to the carbon TPT skeletonised baseplate known as the unibody, this is where the caseband and baseplate have been fused into a single piece, making it stronger and more resistant to impacts. The skeletonised dial is accented with hour and minute markers treated with luminescence making it easy to read in low-light conditions. The RM 27-02 is water resistant up to 50 meters.

Equipped with a highly sophisticated tourbillon movement that is fully skeletonized and finished to a very high standard despite only weighing a mere 3.35 grams. The tourbillon is a complication that helps to improve accuracy by offsetting the effects of gravity on the watch’s movement. This is achieved by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage that completes one rotation per minute. The rotation of the cage ensures that the effects of gravity on the movement are constantly changing and therefore, the overall accuracy of the watch is improved.
