This Piaget set was made in celebration of the Hijri year 1400 (year 1979 in Gregorian calendar). Hijri era is the calendar era used in the Islamic lunar calendar, which begins its count in 622 CE when the Islamic prophet Mohammed and his followers journeyed from Mecca to Medina – a journey known as the Hegira or Hijra.
The set includes a watch and a necklace. The necklace is made of 18K yellow gold and boasts a chain with spring ring closure and a diamond-embellished pendant. The watch is presented with an 18K yellow gold case that boasts a diamond-set bezel and is mounted onto a matching diamond-set 18K yellow gold bracelet. The gold dial indicates hours and minutes. On the case back, carefully engraved is the name of the Prophet Mohammed and the words of wisdom which he shared at Hijra.
The set is offered in a pre-owned condition and includes the manufacturer's box and papers.
