The Patek Philippe World Time watches, originally invented by Louis Cottier in the 1930s, are renowned for their Grand Feu cloisonné enamel dials depicting various regions of the world. In 2022, Patek Philippe is paying tribute to Oceania and South-East Asia with a white gold version of the model featuring a Grand Feu cloisonné enamel dial. The artisan has marked off the outlines of the continents with a thin gold wire and filled the compartments with various enamel colors to depict the oceans and land masses, before firing the enameled dial plate at high temperature. The self-winding mechanical movement, Caliber 240 HU, features a 24-hour and day/night indication for the 24 time zones. The 38.5-mm case is made of white gold and has a sapphire crystal case back which is water-resistant to 30 m. The strap is made of alligator leather with square scales and is hand-stitched in matte navy blue, with a fold-over clasp.
