Let's fast forward to the 90's, in 1995 Omega won the bid to become the 007's official watchmaker. Even though the Rolex was already the established watch for the M16 agent, the brand Rolex never tried to capitalize on this association. Therefore Omega became the watch of James Bond for an entire generation. When Pierce Brosnan took over as James Bond in GoldenEye (1995), he strapped for the first time a Seamaster Professional 300 M on (Ref. 2541.80). This was the start of the close partnership between Omega and James Bond.

When Vesper Lynd tries to figure Bond out, she is asking him for the brand of his watch:
“Rolex?” she asks.
“Omega,” Bond replies.
“Beautiful,” Lynd exclaims.
Omega used this association wisely in the past years and this marketing strategy helped them to sell many Seamaster Professionals.
