In anticipation and celebration of Jack Heuer’s 85th birthday on November 19, TAG Heuer is launching edition of the famous Autavia. In reference to Jack’s year of birth, the edition is limited to 1,932 pieces.
The very first example of the new Autavia was offered as part of the “Heuer Parade” auction on November 11, held by Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo.
An educated TAG Heuer enthusiast will be quick to spot the changes that were made from the original 2017 Autavia in order to create this new, limited edition. The colors of the dial were inverted, with the Jack Heuer Autavia opting for a classic panda dial with a silver sunray finish. The special edition also comes with a minutes/hours (MH) bezel with 12-hour markings and an elapsed time scale.
The Autavia was the first watch released when Jack Heuer became CEO back in 1962, so it is only fitting to create a dedicated model of this very watch to celebrate his 85th birthday. The first Autavia was made famous by Formula One driver Karl Jochen Rindt during the 1960s.
Although N° 1/1,932 was already sold, there is still 1,931 examples waiting to be bought and they will retail for €5,250.
