Disregard the almost too obnoxious name, but the the new Xtravaganza watch collection from Chopard does indeed evoke a strong sense of celebration. I don’t remark lightly when I say that the watches impress me. Made for both men (who dare to boast it on their wrist) and women, the watches have a deeply engraved sunburst pattern on the dials with a speckling of diamonds to look like a burst of light of fireworks.
The collection comes in both a 45mm wide and 36mm wide sizes, with cases being offered in 18k pink gold or 18k white gold. The bezels are set with diamonds, and they are continued on to the lugs. I love the lug system of how they connect to the thin alligator straps. They almost have a lusty, kinky look to them. Chopard will also offer version of the Xtravaganza watch with less diamonds. Inside the watches are what I am going to guess are Swiss quartz movements – tough they might have mechanical movements inside of them. What impresses me most about the collection are just how bold they look. Those dauphine hands serve as a good start to a sharply expressive timepiece that is fun and luxurious at the same time.
