The alphabet soup which is the Chopard Mille Miglia collection grows again with the addition of the Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono watch. How is this piece much different than previous Mille Miglia GT chronograph watches? Really not by much. It does however provide some decorative tweaks as well as design improvements. Plus, the watch will be a limited edition piece only.
With 2011 pieces available in steel and 250 pieces available in 18k rose gold, the case is 44mm wide. The best part of the new watch are the integrated chronograph pushers that are flatter with engraved pushing surfaces. Really a nice look. The dial is perlage polished with applied rings around the chronograph subdials, and an elegantly sporty minute ring looks very in by today’s standards.
Inside the watch is a highly decorated Swiss ETA automatic chronograph movement. It has been COSC Chronometer certified for accuracy. While this 2011 Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono is retro inspired, it feels thoroughly modern in its execution. That racing tire tread rubber strap. The piece is easily nice enough to sell much more than a couple of thousand limited edition pieces. Look for these from Chopard soon.
