The cabin is located in Gamatun (Gautefall), 4.5 km from Gautefall Alpine Center. There is a short distance to the water (Rosstjønn) with fishing and swimming opportunities. Ski trails are in immediate proximity to the cabin. During the summer, there are great bathing spots at Rosstjønn, with sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, and a bathing dock. Rosstjønn is approximately 500m from the cabin.
Directly connected to the cabin, you have a hundred kilometers of biking trails on top of Heimdalsheia in Nissedal, which is a paradise for cyclists. Rocky outcrops, prepared boardwalks, and sturdy suspension bridges are in place on the heathland between Gautefall and Heimdal. Part of the trail network is marked with signs and small cairns. You can start at Gautefall, Felehove, or Heimdal. Signs with place names and small plates with printed QR codes are placed at starting points and along the trails. Here, people can scan the code and receive information about maps, details, GPS coordinates, and a description of the area they are in.
