Townhouse in San Quirico d'Orcia, Tuscany, Italy
Panoramic Townhouse in San Quirico d'Orcia
The townhouse, built in the 16th century, stands along the walls of San Quirico d’Orcia, a few steps from the Horti Leonini and the Collegiate Church. It has been wisely restored preserving the typical style of the place and enhancing the ancient original decorations. The total area of about 370 square meters is distributed over four levels. The large private entrance hall gives access to the open cellar and to the tuff cave. From this environment, the travertine staircase takes us to the upper floors. On the first floor, the bright double living room with fireplace has direct access to the spacious eat-in kitchen. On this floor, there is also the first bedroom (which could easily be converted into a dining room) and the main bathroom with tub. On the second floor, there is a further living room, four more bedrooms and two bathrooms. A modern staircase, also in travertine, leads to the covered loggia with a panoramic view of the historic walls of San Quirico and the Val d'Orcia, from Pienza to Radicofani. The property is suitable both for high-level tourist-accommodation use and as an elegant private residence.
The village of San Quirico is located in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, whose landscape has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The beautiful historic centre is to be visited, as well as Horti Leonini and the Collegiate Church. Here many restaurants and bar offer local specialties. All main services are available in the village. The main places of interest of Val d’Orcia are located near the village: the famous baths of Bagno Vignoni are only 6 km away; Pienza is about 15 minutes away by car, as well as Montalcino. Siena can be reached both by car and by public transport and it is located about 40km away. The Tyrrhenian coast is just an hour drive away.
