Built in 1546, is the second oldest in the whole country, which makes it an old historical monument that
stands proud as one of the few remaining authentic haciendas in México.
After being a family hacienda covering more than 400,000 hectares it became a fortress along the Silver Trail, It later was the summer home of the prestigious Count of the CANAL family who also owned the Allende Institute as their main home in San Miguel de Allende. (The architecture and dimensions of the two structures is quite similar).
It has a long and fascinating history that includes Priest Miguel Hidalgo -Father of the Independence- Pancho Villa, Salvador Asanza and many other important figures.
Each of the 12 suites has a different color scheme and is fully equipped with 1000-thread cotton bedding
and duvets. Each w/ living room, bathroom w/ bathtub, gas fireplace, walls 8-12 ft. thick.
