Joachim Lindhjem at Nordvik is pleased to present Brendstaul Nordvegen 44!
This beautiful and spacious vacation home, built in 2005, spans two floors. The cabin features a generous layout that includes a ground floor with two bathrooms, a sauna, living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, a utility room, and a loft with two sleeping spaces. From the living room, there is access to a large 64 sqm terrace with a stunning view. Inside, the cabin offers a great impression with large windows, high ceilings, and an airy common area that creates a pleasant atmosphere. This is a perfect cabin for a large family! The property includes a large lot and three storage units.
The cabin boasts an excellent location with a fantastic view of Rjukan, Gaustatoppen, and Hardangervidda. It is secluded yet close to the ski slopes, cross-country trails, and amenities such as restaurants and shops.
About the chalet: First Floor: Hallway: Inviting hallway with natural slate flooring and underfloor heating. The space is well-utilized with coat racks and a built-in wardrobe with mirrors and lighting. There is access to a practical laundry room, perfect for hanging outerwear after a long day in the mountains or on the ski slopes. The hallway also houses the central vacuum system outlet and the fuse box.
Living Room: Bright and spacious living room featuring a beautiful open fireplace that provides ample warmth. The living room has a generous layout, offering plenty of space for a sofa set, dining table, and other desired furnishings. It’s an ideal space for hosting friends and family for a cozy dinner around the dining table. The room boasts high ceilings and large windows, creating an airy atmosphere. A heat pump was installed in 2022. The living room features wood paneling on the walls and natural slate flooring with underfloor heating. The cabin has windows with ”authentic” mullions throughout.
Outdoor Area: The living room opens up to a large 64 sqm terrace. The terrace has different zones that can be easily arranged with several seating areas. It offers a stunning view of the surrounding nature, the mountains, Gaustatoppen, Rjukan, and the start of Hardangervidda! It’s the perfect place to relax after an active day in the mountains. The terrace also features an outdoor fireplace, has provisions for a jacuzzi, and there is an outdoor faucet on the exterior wall.
Kitchen: Lovely kitchen in a partially open plan with the living and dining areas. The kitchen is equipped with profiled painted fronts and tiled backsplash. The space is efficiently used with ample cabinet and counter space. The kitchen includes an integrated cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. There is an exhaust fan with an external vent. Additionally, there is a wood stove in the kitchen for extra warmth. The floor is covered with natural slate and has underfloor heating.
Bedrooms: The first floor consists of three beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious, with room for a double bed and additional furniture. The bedroom is connected to a large en-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi and sauna. The other two bedrooms are well-sized, each with a bed and a wardrobe with mirrors and lighting. All rooms feature wood paneling on the walls and tiled floors with underfloor heating. The beds and wardrobe solutions in all three first-floor bedrooms are custom-built, perfectly complementing the cabin’s style.
Main Bathroom: Spacious tiled bathroom with access from both the master bedroom and the hallway. The bathroom has a tiled floor with underfloor heating. The walls are tiled and paneled. The furnishings include two sinks, wall-mounted cabinets, a mirror, a wall-mounted toilet, a wall-mounted bidet, a jacuzzi, and a shower corner. Utility Room: A 287-liter water heater from 2002 is located in the utility room, which has a floor drain. The fuse box is installed, with circuits laid out for a potential outdoor jacuzzi (cabling is already in place to the terrace). The central vacuum system hose is included but needs replacement due to damage—the central vacuum system functions with a new hose.
Loft: The loft features two bedrooms with a floor area of 16 sqm. The rooms are well-sized, with space for a bed and accompanying furniture. The rooms offer multiple furnishing options and are excellent as a TV room for teenagers.
Surfaces: The interior floors are a mix of natural slate, tiles, and pine flooring in the loft bedrooms. The walls and ceilings are paneled in wood. There is underfloor heating in all rooms on the first floor, except for the exterior storage units.
Furnishings: The cabin is sold with a large inventory list, and most of the furniture and furnishings are included in the sale. See the attached list under the section ”furniture and fittings.”

Location: In the heart of Telemark, Norway, lies Gausta Ski Resort, featuring a modern ski facility with activities for the whole family. Gaustablikk offers something for everyone, with 35 slopes, 3 children’s areas, 2 terrain parks, challenging trails, a ski school, and equipment rental. With ski-in/ski-out access to the alpine slopes, cross-country trails, and close proximity to the mountains, you can experience nature at its best all year round. Ski in/ski out access for both cross-country and alpine skiing at Gausta. A short distance to the central area with Gaustablikk Fjellresort, Gausta Ski Rental, and Gausta Foodcourt. The property is close to recreational areas and enjoys excellent sunlight. Popular hiking trails are nearby, both in summer and winter.
If you prefer cross-country skiing, Gaustablikk is a complete ski destination that allows enthusiasts to explore an extensive network of trails. The area offers varied hiking terrain, and it’s just as wonderful here in summer and fall as it is in winter and spring. For summer activities, you can rent a mountain bike with or without an electric motor, play mini-golf, and enjoy the newly opened disc golf park!
You can reach the summit of Gaustatoppen (1,883 meters above sea level) either on foot or via the Gaustabanen. Gaustabanen now transports visitors all the way to the top of Gaustatoppen, where you can ski down several different routes with varying levels of difficulty, and most importantly, enjoy the breathtaking views on the way down. The mountain is often referred to as Norway’s most beautiful, offering a stunning panorama. On clear days, you can see one-sixth of Norway from the summit.
There is a wide range of commercial and service offerings. Gaustablikk Fjellresort and Den Lykkelige Sportsmann Guesthouse offer après-ski and dining options. At Gaustablikk Ski Resort, there is also a restaurant, après-ski at Loftet, a Sport1 store, and the Pose & Sekk grocery store. A new bakery/café has opened, serving delicious pastries and fresh bread. On the western side of Gaustablikk, you’ll find Bygget, which offers dining in the ski and cross-country trails. A 15-minute drive takes you down to Rjukan, where you’ll find more shops including Vinmonopol, Coop, Kiwi, Spar, restaurants, and the popular Rjukanbadet.
The area offers varied hiking and cycling terrain with opportunities for fishing, rowing, or paddling on Lake Kvitåvatn, or swimming in fresh mountain water. Krossobanen, Northern Europe’s first dual cable car from 1926, is only about 20 km from the Gausta area, along the road through Rjukan. At the top of the cable car at Gvepseborg, you’ll find Krosso Mountain Lodge, the gateway to Hardangervidda, the popular Solstien trail, and some of the first cabins of the Norwegian Trekking Association—see [hidden information] for more information. UNESCO has listed Rjukan’s industrial history and Vemork power station as World Heritage sites, and there’s plenty of history and culture to explore through the museums and information boards in the area.
