“WHERE" You Did Not Know "YOU WANTED TO BE"
You could search from Pensacola to Apalachicola; but, you will not find a house . . . a place you would prefer to this sweet spot. Just ask the folks who live here; because they actually did. The masterpiece of architecture is the work of Matt Savoie. His genius treatment of the high elevation property resulted in a home where a view of expansive Rocky Bayou is seen throughout. The artful style is contemporary Acadian. Happily, the property sits on a tiny loop, where traffic is at a minimum, and serene privacy is found. Seen to the east is the preserved green of nature. Even as you step onto the front lawn, you will not see a neighbor’s drive…only more nature and beautiful gardens.
Much of the inspiration for the design of the renovations came from world travel and stays at five-star hotels. At the driveway entrance is a custom gate. There is now a true french limestone mantle gracing a floating brick fireplace in the heart of the home. There is a fish fossil “swimming” in a sea of flame aqua glass where you prepare your meals. You may choose to shower outside with river rock massaging your toes or bathe in the roomy marble bath. Outside is a kitchen, complete with blue-green granite surfaces. Around the pool and spa is French pattern stone decking. Near the shore is “Rick’s Bench,” where you can enjoy the breeze under a massive magnolia (where yoga is optional). At the end of the pier is a covered boat lift, two jet ski lifts, a shower, and a place to clean the day’s catch, which you may have scored as far away as the Gulf of Mexico - as near as a (twenty minute?) boat ride. Oh boy! A favorite local restaurant reflects the home’s address ... One20: A Modern Bistro is for the unpretentious -those who know what they like, know who they are; and, as it turns out, know exactly “where they want to be.”
