Bonnet Shores is a beautiful beach community established in 1928 on the north end of Narragansett. Many of the homes in Bonnet Shores are passed down from generation to generation. Yet there is a strong sense of community with newcomers welcomed and residents happy to chat when jogging, cycling or walking their pets. Bonnet Shores Beach Club offers its membership the use of its main private “Kelley” beach, swimming pool, gift shop, restaurant, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, live entertainment, arcade, free wi-fi, showers, restrooms, and use of the parking lot. Cabanas can be purchased when available.
Non-member residents of the neighborhood may walk on to the beach and can use the beach buses (“shuttles”) that run through Bonnet Shores for free. The beach has very calm waters and are perfect for young children and adults and can be walked to from most locations. If you choose to cycle to either beach you don’t even need a cycle lock. There is a community house within the neighborhood that can be used for private parties and gatherings, as well as community events.
The Bonnet Shores Fire District was originally designed to offer fire protection to the summer residents, but over the years has evolved into the management of Bonnet Shores and offers the many recreational activities that are centered on the two main beaches as well as overseeing the upkeep of the neighborhood in which the residents take great pride.
