Country House in Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Beautiful renovated barn with garden
This beautiful property is the result of the skilful renovation of a rural building. The structure is made of stone, the roof is made of beams and rafters and there is a characteristic large central circular pillar. The renovation project has transformed this old barn into an elegant single-family villa, respecting its original characteristics: the central pillar has been enhanced in its beauty, becoming the heart of the house around which all the spaces and functional environments of a modern and comfortable home are located. The beautiful farmyard leads to the living area through the French window centred on the upstream facade. From the entrance hall you reach the large living room with a modern helical staircase in the centre that wraps around the pillar which, together with the traditional wooden and brick roof and the stone walls, contributes to creating an elegant and evocative environment . The kitchen with attached storage rooms is open onto the living room, as well as a small sitting area with fireplace. The whole floor is illuminated and ventilated by typical ribbon windows with elegant iron window frames, as well as a few small slits with brick slats that enhance the important thickness of the perimeter walls. A bathroom completes this floor. The staircase in the centre of the living room leads to the downstairs floor where there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1 wardrobe. The bedrooms have French windows with access to the garden. The renovation is recent and of an excellent standard with travertine, wood and ceramic floors, underfloor heating, thermo-fireplace, handcrafted iron frames, some of which are electrically controlled. Predisposition for alarm system, internal walls and roof are well insulated.
The beautiful renovated barn is located in the heart of the Sienese countryside, near Monteriggioni and a few steps from the famous Castello della Chiocciola. It is about 15 minutes from Siena. In about 30 minutes via the motorway junction you reach Florence, the artistic hub of Tuscany. In the immediate vicinity is Castellina Scalo, where the main services are located. Not far away are other renowned villages such as Castellina in Chianti and Abbadia Isola. This location represents an ideal compromise between city and countryside.
