One of the most beautiful expressions of the aristocratic architecture of the XVIII century in Martano is certainly Palazzo Micali, as reported in the emblem located in the center of the door that overlooks the balcony, with the Latin motto "D. O. VANIS LATRATIBUS OBSTO - 1719 ".
The building is set over two floors. The ground floor has an elegant portal, the center of which shows the heraldic insignia of the powerful and wealthy Micali family. On the sides, following the slightly curved shape of the road, there are two symmetrical wings characterized by majestic front doors. On the ground floor there is a large entrance hall, two elegant living rooms, an intimate dining room, a kitchen and two bathrooms. The sobriety of the lower floor contrasts with a more eccentric upper floor: at the center of the facade, there is a sumptuous balcony supported by six mighty shelves and characterized by elegant pillars interspersed with sculptures depicting anthropomorphic figures, typical of the Salento workmanship of stone.
On the first floor there is the sleeping area consisting of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A further floor, to be renovated, increases the potential of the building.
Very close to Otranto and its beautiful sea, half an hour from Lecce and an hour from Brindisi airport, this property has all the features for easy usability all year round.
