Description

Canadian Architect magazine described Casa Cielo Azul, a contemporary second-row home in Zacatitos, Mexico as "refreshingly original, taking notions of inhabitation and environmental control back to their creative fundamentals." This is the third in a series of notable projects in Mexico completed by Vancouver-based architecture and design firm Campos Leckie Studio, who with a mind to minimize heat gain and promote passive ventilation, utilized concrete-reinforced insulation panels and a double-wall system, carefully oriented in relation to the sun and prevailing breezes. Placement of the home on the crest of a hill makes maximum effect of the stunning local East Cape, California Baja Sur views that span from the interior mountains in the west to the eastern sea.
