Castle in Brhlovce, Nitriansky kraj, Slovakia
The Charming Castle in the Heart of Europe
Slovakia is one of the most industrialized countries in the Europe. This country called also “the car fortress” for its #1 in the world car produced per capita. It has a lot of places where you can watch the stars and listen the birds tweeting even during a day.
There are various places in Europe with an ambition to be accepted as the (geographic) Heart of Europe. One of those places is in Slovakia (Krahule) just one hour of drive from this charming Castle.
The Castle is located in Brhlovce. It is small village of typical rural character with approx. 300 inhabitants. The village is worldwide well known with the cave dwellings. The dwellings were used for living for centuries. Even in first half of 20th century the cave dwellings were regularly inhabited. This location was a candidate for the list of world cultural heritage (UNESCO).
Any view from any point around the Brhlovce village is dominated by the castle. It is surprising how such a small size building can dominate on such a large area. The intention of the original builders is still easy to recognize. This historical spot erected in 1756 in late baroque architecture style was meant to be decent and dominant in the same time. That’s impossible? Common! Just come and you will be impressed by the ambience of the place.
This place was in ruins and was hopeless only ten years ago. The end of its existence looked to be really closed. Then the actual owner has come and decided to save the ruins. This decision has brought back a perspective to this place. The reconstruction has started and the beauty was getting back.
The original owner of the place, count Anton Kormendy, would be glad to see his home back in life again. He needed four years to develop the area given to him by Austro-Hungarian Empress Her Majesty Maria Theresa and to erect the whole area (1752 till 1756).
The floor dimensions of the major object are 33 meters long by 11 meters wide. The building has three floors (the living area) and three floors of cellars (most of it under the level of the surrounding terrain). The total living space in the major object is exceeding 1.000 square meters.
The castle building is expected to be turned into the five luxurious apartments with a large bathroom for each of them, two big lounges (formal dinning room, library), kitchen and a store room.
The heating in the castle will be provided by the traditional ceramic heating objects with an electronic control units– almost- in each room of the castle. The touch of history must not be missed here.
The cellars will be used for relaxing. The sauna, an yoga room, nice historic rooms to meet the friends and to chat with them. The medieval atmosphere will be unforgettable. Once your friends will visit it ones then they will be coming back again and again. They will love to come to see you every time.
There is also another object in this area. It is a stone made, three floor service building. The lower level was used as barn by the original owners and the upper level as used as granary. This building is 30 meters long and 9 meters wide. This building is expected to be turned into the restaurant for 80 people (ground floor) and to be used for an accommodation.
Although the process of reconstruction has been started, there is still a full range of options in order for a new owner to adopt the project according to his/her own wishes and dreams.
The area is ready for setting up an orchard and all gardening plans are waiting for a new owner too. The total area of the garden is approx. 8.500 square meters. It’s going to be the nicest part of being the new owner of this nice calm place. Simply “WOW”!
The project also covers the building of new places for keeping small animals (hans, geese, ducks) and for setting a herbs garden as well.
Are you dreaming of your medieval style of life? Do your friends like to join the style parties in interesting places? Stop searching now. You got the place already!
