Villa in Laveno-Mombello, Lombardy, Italy
A pink gemstone on the Lake
A short distance from the historic centre of Laveno, in a quiet area and surrounded by a rich vegetation, this property, with a surface of about 600 sqm, has an enchanting Lake view and direct Lake access. A park of about 7200 square meters surrounds the villa, guaranteeing an excellent privacy level. The villa, built towards the end of the 70s, still maintains a contemporary design. Expressing himself with an architectural language that has references in Wright and the great American architects, the designer created a building where the interior spaces are in continuous relationship with the outside. The living area is completely open to the Lake and surrounded by huge windows. The interior is basically organized on two levels that follows the slope of the land, but are spatially unified by the volume of the living room. The architecture is expressed with simple and linear elements but coordinated by a remarkable refinement for the details. The external masonry is in squared blocks of pink stone, the windows in natural wood, and floorings on teak. The flat roof was designed partly as a solarium and partly as a garden terrace. On the mezzanine floor there is the dining area with kitchen, pantry, a bathroom, and the sleeping area, connected by a corridor / gallery overlooking the large living area. The bedrooms are four, and very generous in size, the bathrooms, in the sleeping area, are three. In the basement there is another bedroom with its own bathroom and two more service rooms, in addition to the cellar and a laundry room. An outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court a sauna and a garage of about 60 sqm complete the property. The villa has a gas heating system and provision for air conditioning.
