Located atop the highest point of the farm overlooking the rolling hills of Manyoni Private Game Reserve, Hlakane Homestead was designed for the wildlife enthusiast who enjoys the finer things in life. Walking into the Main lodge area through the large customised entrance doors, one is greeted by the expansive lounge, dining room and interactive kitchen that brings the lodge’s private chef into the centre of the guest experience. One cannot help but be mesmerised by all the bespoke art pieces complimenting the feel of lodge. The entrance flows seamlessly into the schick Bar area where one can sip on a couple of sundowners, or simply relax with an after dinner Cognac and Cuban cigar whilst enjoying the expanse of starlit hills or perhaps some Elephants visiting the private waterhole out front. Another option is to relax in the cozy media room or flip through a couple of the wildlife books available.

On those hot Zululand days, the rim-flow swimming pool is perfectly positioned to keep you cool while still enjoying the view close to the bar, or one can hang out at the larger water featured pool with surrounding Pizza oven and social area. A wide boardwalk connects all the rooms which surround the inner pool area to the Main lodge area so one can walk barefoot without concerns of thorns or stones hurting you. The protected Boma area is a great place to sit around a crackling fire listening to the sounds of the nightjars under full moon, or the distant roar of lions.

Each of the rooms has been uniquely designed to allow for maximum space while incorporating their views and outlook. The suite’s interiors showcase a mix of curated antiques and collectables combined with bold fabrics. They all have an en-suite bathroom’s along with protected outdoor showers so one can enjoy a shower under the stars or whilst watching the sunrise. All the creature comforts are provided for which include Italian coffee machines, Wifi and TV’s.

The options for this lodge are either to continue as a person’s own private usage, or, to start a high-end commercial tour operation which it is already setup to accommodate.
